Overview of the MP Fasal Bima Yojana

The MP Fasal Bima Yojana was launched by the government of Madhya Pradesh for the well-being of farmers and to keep them safe. We all know that natural calamities are uncertain. Under this scheme, financial support is provided to the farmers in case of notified crop failure, and the income of farmers is stabilized to ensure their continuance in farming.

Benefits of the MP Fasal Bima Yojana

  • Insurance is provided to the farmers for their crop yields.
  • Under this scheme, the use of technology is promoted.
  • Farmers need to pay only 2% for all Kharif crops, 1.5% for all rabi crops, and 5% for horticulture crops.
  • There is no upper limit on the government subsidy; every balance is borne by the government.
  • The government will provide a fully insured amount to the farmers in case of crop loss.

Purpose of MP Fasal Bima Yojana

The main objective of the MP Fasal Bima Yojana is to provide insurance coverage to farmers in the event of the failure of a notified crop. India is the land of farmers, where most of the rural families depend on agriculture for their livelihoods, so this scheme helps decrease the burden on farmers who take out loans for their cultivation. MP Fasal Bima Yojana safeguards farmers against all unforeseen and uncertain happenings. If in any case the crops of farmers are damaged, it has been decided that the settlement process of the insurance claim will take place instantly so that the farmers need not face any issue.

ELIGIBILITY 

  • Documents related to the applicable contract agreement notified for permission by the State Government will have to be submitted.
  • This scheme is voluntary for non-loanee farmers.
  • Under the MP Fasal Bima Yojana, efforts are being made to connect more and more Scheduled and Scheduled Tribe women farmers to this scheme.
  • All farmers including tenant farmers/landholders growing crops in the notified area are eligible for crop insurance coverage.
  • Farmers who have not taken loan (KCC) from the bank. They are required to submit necessary documents like Land Record Rights (ROR), Land Possession Certificate (LPC) etc.
  • Panchayati Raj institutions are being involved to get the feedback of farmers for implementing the crop insurance scheme.

How to Apply

  • The PMFBY portal has been prepared by the Union Agriculture Ministry for Madhya Pradesh Crop Insurance Scheme application. Applications can be made on this portal from any state of India. Three means have been encouraged by the Central Government to get crop insurance done. In which farmers can get Fasal Bima done by registering themselves on https://pmfby.gov.in/ portal. Apart from this, farmers who have taken Kisan Credit Card loans from banks. They are compulsorily provided crop insurance by the bank. Apart from this, farmers can also apply from the CSC Centre.
