A contemporary bus station with a shopping-cum office complex, mall, hotel, and related infrastructure has opened in 2022 in Angul. After ten years, the inhabitants’ desire of having a new bus station has finally been realised. The new terminal has been built on 9.72 acres of land for Rs 56.31 crore.

According to the MoU, the new terminal was built on 5.83 acres of land for Rs 13.95 crore, while a commercial complex was created on 3.89 acres of land inside the premises for Rs 42.36 crore. Because of the existence of many enterprises and mines in the region, the state government decided to build a modern bus terminal in response to the rising migration of people from near and far.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Talcher Angul Meramandali Development Authority and a private enterprise to collaborate on a public-private partnership basis. The new bus terminal includes a hotel, a market complex, a relaxation centre, a passenger waiting hall, delimited area for bus movement — facilities for simultaneous movement of 20 buses — parking spaces, cafeterias, shops, restrooms, restaurants, kiosks, and a public speaker system.
