Overview of the Nari Samman Yojana
Nari Samman Yojana was one of the amazing welfare schemes started by the government of Madhya Pradesh for the welfare of every fraction of society. Earlier, the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna scheme was in MP that was started by the BJP, and then Congress started the Nari Samman Yojana that was announced by the chief minister. MP Nari Samman Yojana was a very bold move by the government, as the leaders would have to do door-to-door campaigning to motivate women to register for this scheme. The women who are eligible to enjoy the benefits of this scheme include married women, divorced women, and destitute women.
Benefits of the Nari Samman Yojana
- Financial assistance of Rs. 1500 per month will be provided to the women.
- Gas cylinders would also be provided to the women, which simply cost Rs 500.
- MP Nari Samman Yojana promotes women’s empowerment and helps them become self-reliant.
- The interest rate of the MP Nari Samman Yojana is 7.5% p.a.
- It would help women have equal status and rights with men.
- This scheme was started by the government to motivate women and make them move forward.
Purpose of the Nari Samman Yojana
The purpose of this scheme was to provide equal rights and opportunities to women and to make them self-dependent. Women who are 23–60 years old will get the ultimate benefit of this scheme, and according to the population rate of MP, more than 2 crore women belong to this age group. To register for this scheme, the women could visit the Congress party office or wait for the leaders to start door-to-door campaigning. This scheme has not been implemented yet and will only be implemented if the Congress government comes into power.
ELIGIBILITY
- Women applying for this scheme should be permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.
- The age of the woman applying should be between 18 to 60 years.
- Only women of the state can avail the benefits of Nari Samman Yojana.
- The woman should have a bank account and it should be linked to Aadhaar.
